I've thought about attempting this, but so far no siggy quilts are on the table.

First off I had to look up what a siggy quilt is! hahaha The answer is no, but I'm thinking when my daughters marry (assuming they will) this would be a great gift to give them as a remembrance of all the guests in attendance. What fun it would be to have it hanging on a wall at the reception or on the way into the service to have everyone sign it. I would imagine it could be hung in both places to make sure everyone signs it. Tucking this idea into the memory bank! Thanks for bringing this thought to the forefront.

Yes. We did it instead of a guest book for a friends 80 birthday. She loved it.

    Congrats LRM!

I've never made a siggy quilt, but our staff made a support quilt for a staff member with lung cancer. Each staff member had to decorate a square...written or art work. Two experienced staff members took the squares and quilted them. It was beautiful.

    Congratulations LRM!

I made a signature quilt a few years ago and it is a treasure to me! My family and I, though spread over three states, met every two years at the Outer Banks of North Carolina for a family vacation and shared a large, seven bedroom rental home. One year, I prepared a bunch of white squares and took along several Pigma micron pens and had each member of the family write their name and a favorite thought or memory of our vacations over the years on their square which I later put into a quilt using beach themed colors.

This quilt has become a treasured keepsake that I have hanging on my wall. It is a constant source of joy to me as it brings back the most pleasant and wonderful memories of those vacations with my family!

Congratulations Louise! I hope your luck continues.

I have to admit, I had to google siggy quilt too! And to my surprise, I was a part of one. Our little church quilting group (4 of us) put together one for our pastor who was retiring. Her and her husband loved it. They still treasure it and it was a lot of fun, especially trying to get everyone to write on the little squares without the pastor or her husband finding out. In the very middle of the quilt was an aerial view of the new church.
