Would like to see the look on the face of the person who you are gifting this lovely quilt to. What fabric have you used I have a quilt to make for a 60th wedding. They live near the beach and these colours look very surfy. Thanks for your time if you reply.

I'd love to see their faces too! But, with mom in the shape she's in, I doubt that it going to happen.

The fabrics are the Artisan Shimmers- Lagoon Blue for the strips.
Artisan Sandscape- Vanilla for the beachy sands.

My son wanted beachy and light which is the total opposite of their bedroom. My DIL works nights at the hospital, and is trying to get on days. So she really wanted a dark bedroom. 3 walls of chocolate fudge brown and one of bright teal is what they have now. Jim wants to white wash the teal wall and paint the brown walls a more neutral (much lighter tan). I thought it would go with either. Jim is really excited. In fact, he wants it NOW... ain't gonna happen. I might just ship it to his MIL to keep till Christmas.

That is outstanding! Any problems with the pattern? It is on my list, your choice of color is spot on.

I didn't use the pattern just the tutorial. I guesstamated 4 yards of the sand, 2 packs of shimmer strips and 2 charm packs. I put the quadrants on point and made the setting triangles with a set of the dark strips.
I used every bit of the sand, and I still have a few blue strips left.

I did use one of the blue fabrics that they had locally for a final border.

Beautiful! I love your fabric choice! I received my fabric the other day, can't wait to get started. Looking at your picture is great inspiration.
