Default Rolling Ironing Station - An IKEA Hack...

Hi everyone! I'm such a happy camper.
This weekend I used some of my sewing time to put together a new pressing station! It is so easy to create an ironing top for existing furniture. I my case I splurged for a new cabinet from IKEA to fit all of my WIP baskets plus some extra space behind doors!

Here is what it looks like.
If you are interested how I put it together, check out my blog.

That is just brilliant! I have to ask you one question-- only 4 WIP baskets? You are very disciplined if you only have 4!

This looks great! I love the idea that it's on wheels and has storage underneath.
One yard of fabric, like one cookie, is never enough!

Use it up, wear it out, make it do or do without.

Very nice!! I like the wheels too & especially the fact that it's rectangular, not the odd shape of a regular ironing board. So much better for a quilters needs.

WIP only includes cut fabrics, not patterns and stash! For that I have completely separate storage. I like to keep my real WIP in sight so that I keep working on it!

I have the same set up! I don't have mine on casters because I'm really short and that would make the surface too high for me. But it's a great ironing surface. I attached the board to the IKEA bookcase with Velcro Command strips, the kind they suggest for hanging picture frames on the wall.

BTW, yours look sew much tidier than mine!
Toni ... If I keep sewing long enough, will they make their own dinner?
