I see these little buildings being sold and I have often thought they would make a great little quilting room. If you ever move you can load it up and take it with you. Be sure to post pictures when you get it all set up!!

This is going to be so nice. I wonder how big it is and how it comes to you (finished or not?). Do you have to put down the rocks or does the company that made this do all of that? What a great idea. You will have so much fun.

What an adorable space. I can't wait to see the inside when you get set up.

Thank you everyone for your comments, this has been a long time coming and I am just on cloud nine right now. I am going to post pics as the work progresses inside, hopefully in a few weeks I will be able to move in and start doing some serious quilting. We ordered it from Old Hickory Buildings, if you go to oldhickorybuildings.com you can see their products. It is 12x32, with the front porch taking up 4ft. of that, so with the measurements taken from the inside walls it is right at 11x27 inside. It has 2 lofts inside, one at the back is 4 ft. and the one at the front is 8ft.. The rocks that it sits on we had to provide only because my husband wanted on rocks instead of the ground or up on block, you can really do anything you want but you do have to do it. The company builds it, delivers it and levels it. It took a little longer for me to get mine because of all the snow we had here this year. I plan to put a machine on a frame when it's set up but not a true long arm...I am very very new to machine quilting and I decided to get a gracie king frame with a janome 1600p-qc to start and learn, I'll have a frame so when I am ready for the next step I'll be ready. I am a hand quilter at heart and I will be able to have my Gracie Z44 frame in there too, it's going to be so nice to be able to have everything in it's place and no longer have to rearrange everything to do different things. It sits 20 ft. from the back of the house, if that, and my DH is going to extend the cement foot path to the front porch of the "quilt shack" as he calls it. He's been teasing me that he could put in a mini fridge and a chemical toilet so I can stay out there forever, I told him real funny....here are the pics of the inside...thanx again everyone.....will keep the pics coming......... I could live in that!

I noticed the rocks and figured it was a zoning thing. With a "foundation" like that you don't have to have a building permit (in most places) as the structure is considered a temporary building and not a permanent building since it isn't on a cement slab. Our storage shed, just one of those metal ones, sits on a cinder block foundation. They are in the ground and pretty much look like a slab, but since they aren't, no permits were needed there. Your building is on skids, so if a time comes that you all want or need to move it for any reason, it shouldn't be too hard.
