    Default Swirly Log Cabin

I made this in January. I used the Creative grids curvy log cabin 8" ruler. It was so much fun to use and I can't wait to make another version. I used a couple jelly rolls and white yardage. Next time I will used fat quarters for the color. The strips for the block need to be 2.25" wide or 1.5" (I think), so using a jelly roll gives you skinny scraps. I will have to figure what to do with them.

For the quilting I used my walking foot. Starting in the center I sectioned off each quarter and echoed up towards the corner. It left a diamond in the center. I also remembered to label this quilt, which I dedicated to my children.

This quilt is another family quilt. I realized last year, that besides everyone's bed quilt, I had almost nothing o show for my years and years of quilting. So I started making "Family quilts". These are the quilts on the couch that we use to snuggle up in together. Or I lay on the floor for the kids to sit on for story time. Eventually I will have enough and divide them out seasonally.

It's not. Just an equal number of logcabin blocks, half with print fat sides, half with print on the skinny sides. Then it's all in how you lay it out. There is a pattern you can buy, I just figured it out by looking at the picture.
