    Question Are you addicted?

The debate has come up between my hubby and i about being addicted to sewing/ quilting. He's addicted to smoking- does it outside, but doesn't believe me when i say I feel addicted to my sewing/ quilting.

Dictionary online medical definition is defined as Habitual psychological and physiological dependence on a substance or practice beyond one's voluntary control.

Definition of psychological of, pertaining to, dealing with, or affecting the mind, especially as a function of awareness, feeling, or motivation:

Sew, by definition I personally would say I am addicted to my sewing/ quilting. If I don't get to sew and I want to, it's like some people without coffee.

Anywho, what are your thoughts on it all? Are you addicted to sewing/ quilting?

I wouldn't say that I was addicted. I have a passion for it, but it is not all consuming like an addiction would be.

I really hate it when the voices in my head argue among themselves as though I wasn't even in the room.

I tried to be normal once......worst two minutes of my life.

My name is Laura, and I am a addict.
I am addicted to buying fabric and patterns.
I have to make a conscious effort not to buy more.
And that is only because I have no more room.
BUT, it keeps me busy, it doesn't hurt anyone, and most of my
    quilts are donated.

I am addicted to buying fabric. I love everything about fabric. I love seeing my stash grow. I only wish I had the courage to attempt something bigger than baby size.

I'm more addicted to reading. If I don't have a book nearbye I get antsy.

Next in line is quilting. Or should I say piecing. Although DH says I'm not serious about getting a long arm because I have not made room for it in my sewing/quilting room. So this spring I'm cleaning that room out. Got a couch and a love seat/sleeper that needs to find a new home.

Used to be seriously addicted to Diet Coke. But I have been Diet Coke free for a year and my tummy thanks me.

Am addicted to tea. I have a tea draw that is so full of different teas that some are in another draw. The hard part is that I have had to go decaf and decaf is not as strong in flavor as full octane. So I add an herbal tea to the decaf tea to get it stronger. Celestial Tea Roasterama is excellent!

So, what were we talking about? My tea mug is empty - have to go and make me another one. Can't think straight.

I can't think of anything I would rather be addicted to because there is such a happy ending!

Consumerism related addiction is a funny beast. But I think if you're going to be addict who to spending money in the machine it might as well be for creating one of the kind functional art.
