Default Rhonda's Drunkard's Path Block Tutorial

I do NOT do curves! LOL So when I figured out this method I was so excited to share it with other quilters. I saw Eleanor Burns do her version of it and I tweaked it to use my methods. She cuts the square the size needed, I cut my background square larger than needed so I can cut down. She sews a circle to interfacing and I prefer to use yoyos.

So I don't claim this is my original idea but it is my version of Eleanor Burns method.

Most of my quilt block designs use 6 rows of 6 blocks each.
This means you need a 2 1/2" template to make a 12 1/2" quilt block.
So for the Drunkard's Path you will need to cut out a 2 1/2" circle for the center yoyos.
It works best if you have a bunch of the circles cut out at a time. I use cardboard.
You can download free circles online if you need a pattern to use.

If you need a 2 1/2" template send me your postal address in a pm. Thanks Rhonda
You can make these any size you want by changing the size of your template.

As there are several pictures in this tutorial I am attaching a PDF file instead of posting the tutorial here. If you have any problems downloading the file just let me know and I can email it to you.

I haven't considered this block because it seemed too difficult. This tutorial makes it very clear how to do it. Plus, the "Part 2" shows so many beautiful options for blocks. Thank you!

Thank you for this version... much easier than all the cutting and sewing. I always stretch my fabric so bad, nothing comes together with the old version.
