    Default Rhonda's 4 x 4 Quilt Blocks

A friend asked if I knew of any quilt blocks that could be made into a 10 1/2" unfinished quilt block.
so here is my answer to her and anyone else who would like them.

If you use a 3" template and make HSTs (half square triangles) or my Boston Blocks you can make these quilt blocks into a 10 1/2" unfinished quilt block. A 4 x 4 grid will make the 10 1/2". A 4 x 4 grid is 4 rows of 4 blocks in each row.

    To make a 12 1/2" quilt block you would need a 3 1/2" template.

These are all HSTs in this first batch. I used the same colors so you could concentrate on how the design changes depending on how you turn the blocks. Some I have changed the position of the colors as well as turning them.
They are all the same 16 HST blocks. I wanted to show how you can play with position and change color to get different designs.

Now let's have some fun with color.
These are made with my Boston Blocks

Here you can see I used color to change up the designs.
I turned the blocks and moved color around again to get more designs
I added orange and yellow to have more possibilities for designs.

So now you can see how to change colors and make your designs more exciting. A simple pattern can be made with lots of different color combos and really make a statement.

If you would like to see the layout for any of these quilt blocks just pm me. I'll be happy to send you the layout picture that shows you how to lay out the blocks to get that particular quilt block.
