    Default Newest project

    Hi

I need ( or my fingertips need) a break from the handstitching of labels and sleeves.
So I have been fiddling around with my newest project to day.

    Falling triangles.

But I have used charmpacks insted of layer cake that Jenny used in the tutorial.

I use a charm called Charlotte by Debbie Beaves of RJR fabrics. ( Hope I got that one right)
and a yardage fabric that I cut out 5" square to match the charm.
I also cut out 1 ½ " strips from that fabric. It is a very pale yellow fabric and I think it reads beige in the pictures.
    But it is pale yellow.

The hst are comming out at 3 1/8" and when I put on the 1½" sashing the unit messaure 4 1/4".
When I put 4 unit toghether the block comes out to 7 3/4"

I had some difficulty with the rotation of the units (hst with sashing on).

Eventually I think I got it right.

Here are some picture of it. One picture is like Jennys Layout and one is of my first attempt of layout.

    What you think?

God, Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
The stash to make a quilt to help me cope,
A quilt to give to comfort those I love in times of hurt, fear and uncertainty.
And the courage to keep on sewing when life itself seems held together by a single thread of hope.

I was wondering how this would look made with charms.. I love both layouts. Thank you for this post, this is one I will definitely be doing.

They are both nice but I like the 2nd layout better.
Since you're always on my mind can you straighten out the mess up there?

I like it with the charms, glad you did this too. I like both, but prefer the random ones more.

I'm like Karen, I like the random falls better. Great job - you are so quick with your quilts!!

It looks good with a yellowish background!

I personally would even go a step further and randomly sew the blocks together.

Since I tend to be a little OCD about things being in line and in order....I like the second one better.

I like the random in the prints you have. The second would be nice in a color wave like a rainbow.
