If you are making the tote from the tutorial what jelly roll are you planning on using?

ID:	99310I just finished mine. I used scraps and stash. It turned out smaller than I usually make but I like the feel of it. I added a scrappy pocket also. I'm not crazy about the way she did the handles. I probably won't do it again. Click image for larger version.

Vernona, I love it! I really love the scrappy pocket! The colors are fabulous too!

Did you use the stuff she used inside? Did you like working with it?

Cute. What did you not like about the way she did the handles? I'm just starting to venture into making totes after "mastering" zipper pouches and am very interested in your thoughts.

Yes, I used that foam she used in the tutorial. Overall I liked it. More expensive than batting but gives a nice body. I think in a purse it would be great. It was as easy as it looked to use. Vanessa said to use 15 x 30 but since the foam is 58" I just used half and there should have been 3" left for the handles but it was a little narrow. I usually do the handles the way Jenny has shown in her tutorials and I think it's easier. It took quite a bit of fiddling and clipping to get the edges turned under to meet and cover the foam snugly.

I have Folklore by Lily Ashbury, Jelly roll and some yardage. I was going to make the beach ball quilt, but doing the corners seemed to be a bit hard, I'll never get it lined up right. So, yes I Want to make to Tote, soon I hope.

I have mine halfway done - yet to make the handles. I used some batik strips that I had from a bus tour/ shop hop and I'm loving the way it is going. I have the outside complete but want to add pockets inside and still need to do the handles. I'm using some one-side fusible Pellon that I had on hand. Not much for bags myself (all I need is a pocket for my car key and a debit card).

    Pictures when complete.
