Talking How Funny!!! I Completely Forgot!!

I was going thru old pics on my computer, trying to re-organize them. I had a folder named "Crafting," and in that folder was one called "Sewing Projects." Stumbled upon some pics from back in 2009... of what I now remember as my very first quilt!

I COMPLETELY forgot I did this!!! My BFF at the time was pregnant and the nursery was monkey themed. I bought a book, the fabric, and batting at JoAnns... and managed to complete it. I had NO clue what I was doing, and got completely frustrated and threw it aside for a while. Right before the shower, I had to finish it... so I bit the bullet and just did it.

I look back on it and laugh now. My mom always jokes with me that I'm a "go big or go home" kinda gal... never can start off with the easy stuff. I do remember though that I got so frustrated with this one that I lost the interest in quilting. Who knew that 5 years later... I would have found it again

Your first quilt was set on point? Wow--I had to screw my courage to the sticking place before I tried that. Great job!

Lol. I didn't even know what "on point" meant back then... picked the pattern based on looks. If only I had known....

For a first quilt, it looks great. My first quilt was truly awful.
I miss those days when I had that 'go-for-it' attitude about even the most difficult patterns.

Did you make those little monkeys on the label yourself?
