    Default Missed Christmas by ThisMuch

Wanted to have this done in time for Christmas but at least it's done in time for next Christmas. I had been wanting to try a double slice layer cake quilt after watching Jenny's tutorial and when this layer cake (Holiday Elegance) showed up on one of the DD's, I grabbed it up. Usually on a quilt this size, I take it to my LAQ but she was so backed up, I thought I'd try quilting it myself. The quilting isn't perfect but since no one else seems to fret about that but me, I'm happy with it.

My backing wasn't quite wide enough so I improvised. (There was also a small tear in the fabric I didn't notice when I purchased it.) I kind of like doing pieced backings now. It's almost like having a reversible quilt.

Am starting to experiment with quilt labels. This is the first one I've done that wasn't the traditional square shape.

Thanks for looking. Also, thanks to all of you who post pictures and provide inspiration and help to those of us who are still learning. <3

It's all fun and games until the bobbin runs out.

That turned out so pretty. I finished a Christmas project last week. We're not behind, we're AHEAD for Christmas 2015!

Very very pretty and hey, I'm half through the piecing of my Christmas quilt too. I love yours, the quilting looks great and the back is fun too with that pretty row of poinsettias!
Finished is way better than perfect!

Great-looking quilt - front, back and label! I never finished a Christmas double slice and really like the quilting on yours. How did you go about that? It doesn't follow the block design does it?

This is a wonderful quilt. Each year when you pull it out you will let out a happy little sigh and enjoy it. Merry Christmas!!
