Since the door is steel I used magnets to hold up the quilt.

I agree with the others - use one solid as background and this will look great!

Mad or not, a very creative solution. I get so many good ideas here, now I just need to get my butt off the computer and into the sewing room. Maybe if I put the spare laptop in there it will inspire me more. LOL
Love your idea of the tumbler, I have one that hasn't seen the light of day since I got it.

That's going to be so neat when resewn together! I agree that it should alternate with white tumblers, but it's your quilt. Whatever you do will be beautiful

I think I am going to go with the black as I have a lot of it and no white fabric. I think it will look ok. Will see how it goes. Unless I get mad again and cut the tumblers into something else.

I would sew rows of tumblers with sashing in between the rows horizontally...maybe even sew two rows of tumblers and then sash them horizontally. I think it would look great!

Oh, that looks beautiful with the black! And I love the idea of adding sashing between the rows. Those tumblers will really pop.

I think you will be doubly proud when you are done that not only did you not just stuff your mistake in the back of the closet but that you turned it into something even better than what you originally planned.
It's all fun and games until the bobbin runs out.
