Hmm...what brand of pencil was it? I only ask because I recently had a heart-stopping moment when I went to iron a block, not realizing that I'd forgotten to remove the marks I'd made on it earlier first. To my amazement, it ironed right off! Normally ironing it would be the final nail, so to speak, but with certain brands these days it appears to be one way to remove it.
I feel just terrible for you, what a hard way to learn :'(

You might try soaking overnight in a mixture of Dawn and Biz. It works on yellowed fabric. You could probably Google to amounts you need for the amount of water you use.

That's why we need to find out what is used in the blue dye. I worked in a cleaners for a bit and learned some stain removal which is actually basic chemistry. Just a tad difference in the chemical composition of a dye can make it hard to deal with.

I'm still looking, but no marking company lists the specific. The info should be available. Those who have young kids know anything is possible - what do you tell poison control the kid has put in its mouth if just generic blue coloring is mentioned?

Is this the soap you use? It may be expensive compared to the price in the States, but at least you can order it on Amazon.CA. For the Americans reading this-a LOT of products that are easy to buy in US are not offered in Canada.

You are very welcome. Recently I have noticed that Amazon.CA has been offering items that are not normally sold in Canada more and more. (yippee, happy dance)

Amazon.CA also carries Shout Color Catchers now. Again, a little expensive, but at least we have the chance to purchase them.

That is crazy expensive compared to the US. Here fels Naphta about $1.50 for a bar!

I would try straight Naphta, the liquid petroleum product that used to be called Energine, before taking any chance with the bleach. It can be found on the shelf in your local hardware store by the paint thinners, etc.
