    Default The baby's here!

I am making a quilt for one of my friend's first grandbaby (a girl.) I started the quilt a month before the due date (Nov 17) and felt good about my progress. I have half of the FMQ done, and the baby was born on Halloween! I was hoping to send my quilt to them before she arrived in this world; I was hoping they would ooh & aah over my quilt first, but I guess they have something else to do that with now! I still have to make a label for the back, but at least now I know her name so I can personalize it even more. I like to make a triangle to fit in one of the corners; while doing a Google search, I found a really cute label where the long diagonal was bordered with the same material from the binding. I loved that look and will copy it.
Here the image (not my quilt)

That's a great looking label. Good luck finishing up your baby quilt.

Thanks for the pix, love the border idea on the triangular label, will have to tuck that idea away for future use. It's how I,put labels on, sans the border, but it gives a much more finished look to it! Ok, dumb question, how do you get the lovely printing on it, short of embroidering it?
What do you mean I'm easily distracted..........HEY LOOK......FABRIC!!!!

Short answer: Iron a piece of fabric to an 8 1/2 by 11" piece of freezer paper and run it through your inkjet printer after you create your label on a word processing program or paint (Microsoft.)

It's done and ready to ship! I had problems making the label with my inkjet printer; the ink keeps fading & blurring after I wash it. I ended up getting those June Tailor printable fabric sheets. That worked very nicely, although that stuff is stiffer than regular fabric.

I used that tip I found to frame the label with the same material I used for the binding. I'm going to do that on all my quilts from now on!

Totally expected to see baby pics... but it's a cute quilt and label, anyway

Congrats to the new family member. I am making a baby blanket (All-N-One Loom) for my 5th grandbaby due any day now. I am new at all things crafty.
