    Default Here's Mine

This is a tote/bag I made today. The outside is a remnant upholstery fabric and the lining is purple cotton. I used a pattern I picked up at WalMart for a dollar and added some pockets inside and outside. The pattern called for an oval bottom piece and I did that, but if I make any more from this pattern I'd do a simple squared off bottom on it.

I really like that Sandy, was the upholstery fabric fairly easy to sew on the double seams. I have a bag pattern that calls for it but wasn't sure how thick it would be. My DIL is needing a tote for her laptop, she'll be carrying it back and forth to school everyday so I need to get something done for her soon.

Mary, I didn't have any problems sewing the upholstery fabric at all. It didn't have a backing on it like some do. I had a new 14 needle and just zoomed through it. It may depend on your machine though . . .

What a great bag!! I have a ton of upholstery fabric that was given to me and I never knew what to do with it......Great idea. I really like the way the handles are all one piece...

That is a great bag! I love how you matched up the pattern on the pocket. The design is cool too.
