No one, I'm the first in my family who's a quilter but my Mom was a sewist of clothes. I've always loved the look of quilts since I was a teen, but didn't attempt making a quilt until I was 40!

Maternal grandmother quilted - I have some tops that I 'think' she may have done (can't prove it since there's no one to share and Grandma passed before I was born). Mom never quilted but that was probably because we always had plenty of quilts that her mother had made. My Li'l Sis quilts and my brother's wife used to - she still shares her stash whenever she feels like picking up.

A neighbor in base housing in Hawaii. she had just gotten a quilt top back in the mail, she'd sent it to the mainland for quilting. It generated an explosion of creativity in my mind. I joined the local guild, one thing lead to another and I ended up purchasing a Gammill quilting machine and quilting for the guild.

My grandma was a "crazyquilt" gal, my mom quilted, and mother-in-law! So clearly I had no choice!

I pretty taught myself how to quilt. I have been sewing for 48 years off and on and finally decided I wanted to do something different and started quilting. So I have quilting steady now for 5 years before that off and on for 4 years.

No one in my family even sews! My Grandmother was quite the crafty person and always included me in her crafting adventures when I would get to visit her, but nothing to do with quilting ever. I think I just moved into the love of fabric on my own while looking for crafts to do with her. Started making clothes for my kids, then made a few quilts. Now 20 years later I just remembered how much I love fabric and love piecing it together to make something new and beautiful! Jenny has been my teacher!

My grandmother was the woman that got me start. She would take my granddad's pants and work shirts, cut them in squares. Once the top were sewn together then we layed it out on the wood floor and tack it, then tie the top. I still have a couple of the quilts to this day.

My aunt that also taught me how to sew. Every time I quilt I have many fond memories of her and the times we shared.
