Well I finally got started. I didn't want to mess up expensive fabric so I started with a charm pack and jelly roll from Wal-Mart. I put them on the black fabric to see what it would look like with black sashing. Any help and or criticizing is welcome. I am new at all of this. A month ago I had no idea what a jelly roll, layer cakes (other than food) charms were. LOL! I think I'm HOOKED!!! Thanks for looking.

Glenda, your blocks will look great with the black sashing. It makes all the colors really pop. You've entered a fantastic new world!

I love the black sashing! It really shows all the colors and pulls the black out of the blocks too! Yep - you'll be hooked for life! I think you've got a great start.

Very nice work, and the black sashing is fine. Just for the heck of it, I would put it against some white fabric and see how that looks too.

I bought that same jelly roll at Walmart to make my first quilt too, the "summer in the park", didn't work out, didn't know what I was doing so I scrapped it, still have it laying round in different types of squares and such, so proud of you for making it work, looks pretty.
Since you're always on my mind can you straighten out the mess up there?
