    Default Conversations with Hawaii Roxy

A couple of days ago I got this call from my little sister.....you know, Hawaii Roxy........

Hawaii Roxy: What is a serger?
Me: You know those neatly covered seams that you see in store bought clothing....?
    Hawaii Roxy: Yeah
Me: It sews the seam cut off any excess and covers the raw edge all at once.
Hawaii Roxy:Ooooooohhhhh, cool - Do I need one!!!??
    Me: Laughing out Loud............ummm no!
Hawaii Roxy: I asked James (her DH) and he said, "I don't think so if you don't even know what it is !"
    Me: More LOL
Hawaii Roxy: Well, I know I need at least one more, an embroidery machine!!!!!

She just cracks me up! When I was there to teach her to sew and quilt, I would quietly ask her something like, "Why are you doing that?" ........her answer, "STOP YELLING AT ME!!"

Oh the stories I could tell you.......

Why is it that when you ask your sister a question they always say your yelling? My sister does that all the time, makes me want to yell. LOL

She needs a serger. Everyone needs a serger.

Oh please, more stories lol. My sister may be coming to Florida so I can teach her to quilt since she keeps asking me to make something. Think I will keep a notepad handy.

My sister dusted off her old Kenmore when I was out there a couple of years ago. She bought fabric for a quilt, but I know that will be untouched for a long time!

Go ahead, Roxy, get more machines! No one can have too many sewing/serging/ embroidery machines!

Gotta love sisters! But I so wish any of mine were interested in quilting! But alas, their only interest is in the ones I make for them, not in making any themselves.

Yeah, what's up with that? If I got the least bit upset with my kids they would tell me I was yelling at them. I told them they had no clue what yelling really was. I asked if they'd like me to demonstrate. I don't think they ever really heard me YELL at them in their entire spoiled rotten little lives. I think they are finally realizing just how lucky they were growing up with us for parents.
