Default Made a bag for my mom!

Yesterday I was not feeling well and thought about something to make.....sometimes all my fabrics are screaming to me and sometimes they are just sitting there not helping me to inspiration at all.....do you have that also?
Well, just before dinner I saw a Jellyroll I bought last year and thought of my mom.....finaly some creative thoughts came to my mind! I made mom a tote when I first started quilting, (3 years ago) so I think she needs a new one.

I started opening my Roll and laying the colors out, thinking of a pattern.....but then I just started sewing and getting the pattern in my head along the way. So far so good, but when I came to the middle part of the first two strips ......those strips were cut so bad, I could not believe it.
The most strips had big elbows and wonky as can be, this was a Joan's jellyroll.....I will never buy a roll like this again....this was 20 strips and I had 2 of them....so I thought of making the Jelly Roll Jam 2, but now I am not so sure anymore, knowing how bad those strips were cut
I just fell in love with the colors and never thought about the strips not being straight at all.....

Anyway, just finished the bag and it turned out so nice I think, I made a pocket with leftover strips, and a tissue holder also.

    Hope you like it!

Oeps.....the first picture is colorwise way off........must be the lighting in my sewingare at this time a day.....sorry about that, the other two pictures are much closer to the real colors......

Nice idea for the jelly rolls that need a home! Sometimes I wonder what I was thinking when I bought it!!
    Thanks

That came out really nice. If my mom wasn't so "picky" about her bags I would make some for her lol!

A great 'pick-me-up' project. We all need those kind of days.

I love it / the tissue holder is a nice touch. She'll love it. Saving it as a holiday gift? or 'just because'?

You turned a blah feeling day into a great project day, lovely colors and I'm sure your Mom will love her new bag.

I should get moving on making some bags myself as I was thinking of making different sized ones for female family members and including a gift card as their Christmas gifts. Less gift shopping on my part but still something I made especially for each one of them. Guys aren't so sentimental about gifts as a gift card to their favorite places to eat usually makes them happy.
