    Default Stash Inventory

Does anyone inventory their stash. If so, for what reason and how?

Years ago I did inventory my stash, putting a small sample on a 3 x 5 card, then writing the size, type, other info on the card. It was very handy when I could sit and swap cards around and come up with different ideas or if I needed to match fabric, thread, zipper, etc then I could just take that card to the store. I only did garment sewing at this time. I have since gained tons and tons more fabric and it would take forever to do an inventory.....and I agree.....no one needs to know how much there is!!!!

I wish I was able to right now. Iknow I put a lot in tubs to cleat out room, (I have a lot of kits) went to look for something and realized I just need to shop my own stash if I need something.

I know I don't have to purchase fabric a LONG time.

I think if I sold my stash I could pay for half the forum to go to Florida ...

Nope. However, if Quiltography ever creates a way bulk upload images of fabric, I will take a picture of everything I have and upload it to the software for quilt designs!

Nope, I've never done an inventory. I did recently put all my stash on boards. Touching every piece reminded me of what I have. And now that it's organized on shelves by color it makes it way easy to shop my stash first.
