Default Quilt show coming up ... I'm excited!!

I'm headed to a quilt show in the Autumn. I have never been to one before and I hear this one is quite big. Its at Duxford air museum. So my question is how is the best way to approach touring one of these shows so I don't miss anything and what are the best things to buy at such a show is it fabric or equipment.
    Thank you

WEAR COMFORTABLE SHOES!!! Also, budget your time wisely. The first time I went to an AQS show in Grand Rapids, I spent way too much time in the vendor section and didn't give myself enough time to browse the quilts at a leisurely pace. Also, be prepared to deal with a large amount of people and some not so polite. When I went to the show in Grand Rapids, a lady was extremely pushy, trying to get into a booth. She actually knocked me over into a display! When I got myself uprighted, I said "Excuse You". That woman turned on me with a barrage of language that is unprintable. I told her that she needed to be more careful and that she had knocked me down. She denied it and continued screaming at me with her face less than 6 inches from mine. I turned and walked away and this woman followed me, still berating me at the top of her lungs. I had to get security involved and this woman and her 87 yo mother were escorted out. I've been told that this is an unusual incident and doesn't usually occur at the larger quilt shows but I haven't gone to another large one since.

Yes to comfortable shoes....set a budget and try to stick to it - ha ha!! I always go thru everything before buying, at least I try to. I take pictures of things I really like, I collect business cards and website addresses, and then I go back thru to buy things I just can't live without.

Wear comfy shoes and bring a tote bag for your purchases. Bring a sweater in your bag. Even if it's warm outside, the convention halls can be quite chilly with the A/C. Take time to walk around and check out the products by each vendor and see what's available. You can always revisit. The last show I attended allowed pictures inside the convention hall, but no pics were allowed in the special quilt showing area.

Even if you're not interested in sewing or quilting machines, stop and watch some of the demos. It's amazing to see some of the beautiful stitchery and methods.

I'm sure you'll have a good time! Let us know what you bought.

I agree with the shoes.I would look around at different websites before you go so you can have a good idea about what is normal or high priced so that you don't get taken just because you like something.I also would bring a tote or some kind of bag for purchases.
