Default Hey Ryan-remember that big unknown plant?

I was going to have the title say "Remember the weed?" and then thought it might not be totally correct.

http://forum.missouriquiltco.com/gen...-2-canada.html I was trying to figure out what the plant was in my flower garden. It turned out to be a Mullein-a weed of great ummmmm. . . well, great height! It was pretty last year when it was low to the ground but then this year it reacted like someone soaked it growth hormone!

These things only live for two years. Since it was starting to flower, I decided to ask it to go away (with help from hubby) before it went to seed.

Wow, the leaves look a bit like a dandelion on steroids.
Or a botany class project gone horribly wrong...

It looks like what I'd call a "miner's candle". I hear it might be useful for treating sunburns or as toilet paper!

To me it looks like an alien plant that is getting ready to take over the earth, he's just waiting for the rest of his army to grow and join him.

That is a prize winner. Most of the wild ones around here only get 3-3.5 feet tall.
Loosely based on a true story.
