    Default Block Errors

Have all these errors in the Block been discussed or did I miss the discussion?

April / Spring issues have many mistakes.

I haven't noticed any discussion on the Forum about the errors. The first time I marked the 3-4 errors in my Winter book with post-it notes. But the errors just came out for the 2014 Spring Book and I was surprised there were so many. Has anyone else noticed this?

Thanks for posting this Millie. I missed it too. And I agree there were a lot of errors. At least the corrections have been posted shortly after most people have received their copy.

So...where are the error corrections for the spring book? I tried using the winter URL modified to say spring, and that didn't work.

Wow! I wonder why the errors are being found AFTER the magazine is published rather than catching them beforehand. Doesn't give one a very confident feeling. Could get pricey wasting fabric on mistakes made due to wrong instructions. I hope they get it straightened out. Proofreading is such an important part of publishing especially when it comes to giving directions.

I would hope they would send out emails to all who purchased Block, so we could have the corrections. Not everyone is on this forum. Even if it meant an email went to all Missouri Star customers, even those who did not get Block. I would never just think I had to go look for corrections.

I am glad I am on here to get mine though.

Having worked as a proofreader for five different magazines, let me say that proofreading is a very tough job. I got my job because of an error that occurred on the back cover of a magazine for stock show animals. This goof went nationwide. The heading should have read "Top Quality Pigs For Sale". The typesetter made a typo and put in two "s's" in pigs and left out the "g". The advertiser who owned the pigs was not happy at all. People were calling him from all over the US with lots of "cute" comments. I am always amazed when reading a novel that contains lots of typos.

It is especially difficult when trying to give accurate instructions. I love BLOCK and I love MSQC. Let's all give them some grace. They are a new company and are trying to get it right. I admire their growth, their business, and their willingness to put it all out there. Until we start signing all those bank loans and writing all those paychecks maybe we should hold back judgement. Go MSQC!!!!
