Lightbulb My solution to reducing quilt drag

I had to share my latest tool find! It's kind of off the wall but it was the perfect solution for me to pick big quilts up off the floor while I'm doing FMQ on my domestic or sit-down longarm machine. Space is a premium in my new studio so I didn't want to have to surround myself with folding tables.

These are dog grooming arms - you can get them in different colors and finishes. The clamps I picked out are muslin clamps that photographers use to secure backdrops.

The grooming arms are height adjustable, you can rotate them to face forward, to the side or back. They will clamp to ANY table and are very secure. No drilling or hammering required!

I love them! They work great.

What a terrific idea! You should do a YouTube video to demonstrate your method. I bet a lot of quilters will be ordering those dog grooming cranes.

Absolutely amazing! I think it might work for me. I would have to check out the clamps first since I actually sew on my dining room table (triple padded of course). Thanks for the post.

Katie, as usual, you have the greatest tips to share! Do you find these in the pet stores?
