Default How Do You Keep Track of Interesting Links?

As you all know............there are so many interesting links & info posted here everyday. Sometimes there are things I want to look at later when I have more time........and then forget where I saw it.

So, I'm just wondering how do you store or keep track of all those interesting links for later use.........besides bookmarking on the computer. Is there a better way.......such as user notes or something else I may have overlooked?

    Thanks

I put them in my user notes. Or I Like it and then you can go to Likes you gave in your profile.

What about setting up a folder in your Bookmark (Favorites) bar for links you want to look over later. Then after you peruse the link you can move it into the appropriate bookmark folder.

I'm a stickler for a clean bookmark bar. I sort everything into folders. My husband thinks I'm nuts

I put them into folders in my favorite places spot, ie- quilting patterns; quilting lessons; bag patterns, etc. Do I ever go back? Not very often! But they are there if I ever want to!

I don't necessarily think this is a better way, but I keep a OneNote (it's part of the Office programs) folder for different things (quilts, baby things, other stuff, possibilities for gifts etc.). I started out just copying links in an excel tab, but soon I lost the overview. Now I usually copy a pic of what it is about (otherwise I wouldn't remember what it was exactly) and OneNote adds the link automatically. I sometimes also make little notes on how I would change it or how it would work with another design or even possible fabric choice. Even a blog or website gets deleted I will still have the pic so if I really love I can try and recreate it.

That being said, it's gotten a bit messy lately, I might have to go over it again and make subcatagories or something....There's just too much stuff out there!

Edit: I prefer having my links saved in a separate document, you never know what will happen to your pc/laptop, it might just die one day. But I regularly make a backup of my docs (copy to external harddrive, pictures from holidays I burn on CD from time to time).

Printing and saving them in a manila folder may work for some :-)

    Yes, I can be :-)
Hey, that way you can discuss them with others, review them in the train or make notes in the margin when you have no power supply or internet access. I grew up in India and every now and then I have to remind myself that I am so spoiled now :-)

It is the same with recipes. Once I start cooking, I print it out and take it to the kitchen - more portable than laptop and iPhone.
    Hugs!!!
