Default Betty Boop Dresden Purse and a wallhanging

When I saw the dresden purse tutorial I instantly fell in love with it (and with the Betty Boop fabric). I made one but it's a bit smaller because my dresden template is only eight inches long. I definitely have to get the bigger template and make another purse. I added a magnetic snap to close it and a small pocket inside.

Last year I started some english paper piecing projects to keep my hands busy when I can't play with my sewing machine and found a few pictures of 3D projects with diamond shapes on the internet. I made one of those big hexagon blocks and appliquéd it to a larger piece of black fabric and then quilted it. I even made a sleeve and now I have my first wallhanging. I am definitely going to make some more because I think those 3D blocks are so cool.

And finally, I made a small pouch for my phone last weekend. It has a larger compartment for the phone, one that is a bit smaller and one with a zipper for a bit of money or so. I really like it. The smaller one is for the earplugs of my iPod. Even the iPod fits in it. I meant to make the red fabric the lining and look the same as the phone pouch but I put the zipper on the wrong side of the fabric in the beginning. Doesn't really matter, I think it's cute anyway.

Lovey pieces. Betty Boop will always be cool. The 3d would look great in a quilt.

    All your projects look great!
Is the round ear bud/ipod purse the one you can find online (don't have the link right now). I made a couple of those, but the topstitching around the circle didn't look nice as it was too thick for my machine. Did you just leave the open edges inside or did you come up with a better solution?
Your dresden purse looks great, too. Black and white, always a favourite of mine! Instead of buying another template, you could just extend the exisint dresden with some cardboard/other hard material by two inches, using the same angle. Saves some money that you can then invest in more fabric!

Impressive pouches! I'm afraid to tackle zippers, too many horror stories in attempts years ago. One of these days....Also love the Betty Boop purse.
