Log Cabin is a great one to learn because it isn't difficult and there are about 10,000 variations on the basic block so it is easy to change up and use again for future quilts.

I thought so too. I was think of doing it in black and whites (Sylvia), just have to decide on the lattice color. That's what's holding me back. lol

Took my first quilting class this past July and it was making a rail fence quilt which was really very easy. There were 8 of us in the class and it was amazing at the end how different each quilt looked!

Love the looks of that one. Another one to be added to the growing list of quilt tops to do!

I would definitely say the disappearing 9 patch is a very easy quilt for a beginner AND it looks like a tough quilt to put together. I love that pattern especially since there are no seams to match!

Another easy quilt is a Coin Quilt which just involves cutting charm squares in half and joining different halves to each other. I don't have a picture of one, but it would be easy to find directions and a picture with Google, Pinterest, or there may be one at MSQC.

This is a very easy pattern, especially if you like more modern looking quilts
