This lady is VERY chatty and her four videos demonstrating this method are quite long; however, she is very thorough explaining her method. I tried it out myself and was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was to FMQ a king size quilt without tears!

Re: Quilt as you go with no sashing
I tried to watch but she says "um" after every other word, sometimes twice in a row. I counted over 106 "ums" during her 11 minute video. I can't listen to any more. Not trying to be mean, but it's annoying that she can't get through one single sentence with saying "um" at least once.

Re: Quilt as you go with no sashing
I enjoyed this tutorial, um or not She did a great job explaining the technique! It is a really cool option for someone who is completely overwhelmed by the idea of FMQ a whole or large quilt. I'm also intrigued by the fusible batting option - has anyone here tried that for a full quilt?
Thanks for sharing!

Re: Quilt as you go with no sashing
I skipped and skipped trying to find a section in the video where she was actually teaching something... but all I heard each time it loaded was "Um"... that is so the WRONG way to try to keep people interested in your topic. She needs to take a public speaking class. That was ... Ummmm... horrible!
Jenny needs to put out some tutorials on how to make a quilting tutorial.

Re: Quilt as you go with no sashing
That was indeed difficult to watch. Ebony Love is even worse when it comes to saying "um." I was watching some of her video on the double wedding ring and it was really distracting. I wonder if these folks ever watch their videos BEFORE they post them. Maybe they don't even hear it when they watch what they've filmed. I spent quite a bit of time fast forwarding through this batting issue video. There's another technique similar to this but a lot easier to manage and it doesn't require putting the quilt top together in sections. That's the route I'd take before I would ever try this technique. The batting is put together in sections instead. After all it's the batting that causes all that bulk. I don't think it's the quilt top and back that are the problem.
Has anyone tried using the iron-on batting for larger quilts? I've only seen demos where it's been used on smaller projects. Is it a lot more expensive than regular batting? Does it also come by the yard or does one purchase it in a package only?Goodbye Europe! Hello California! Home sweet home.

Re: Quilt as you go with no sashing
I can see what she's doing - but what if you prefer spray basting?
I don't have room for even a 58x58 wall hanging on a flat floor, and I'm not pinning on a shag rug! Tried it once, and that was enough.
This method would help, but I like to spray baste, too.
