Hi there, I made a friendship braid quilt with ONE jelly roll. It turned out to be a large lap/ small twin size. This was a Dark Bali Batik's Jelly roll, and was given for a charity auction for a friend with cancer.

Very pretty! Was this done with the binding tool as a template?

Yes, Jean, exactly! It is the one that Jenny did with the binding tool. I just sewed the braid into one huge long strip, and cut it into the five panels that I needed. Then I cut and stitched the scraps into a very long thin strip, and cut it to length to make the little embellishment rows on the top and bottom. This one really is more of a twin than a lap.

That worked out really nice. Nice choice of fabrics for that braid.

If you go to the other thread that Jean posted there is a tute that doesn't use a tool.

Really pretty! I want a friendship braid quilt just for me. They make me smile. So, now that I know how well a jellyroll works for them, I'll be keeping my eye out for just the perfect one. Thanks for sharing your success.
