Yes, I am going to hang it over the fireplace in the living room. I love koi too.We used to have a small 800 gallon pond with koi in the house we lived in before. In this house we have a tiny 20 gallon pond with four goldfish.

Thanks so much Shirley. I didn't think you could even see the quilting in the compressed version of the photo! I probably spent more time on the clam shell motif on the top border than on all the rest combined. I was hoping it would give the impression of giant fish scales. I learned the bamboo motif in the lower right corner from Leah Day. The bamboo was easy because bamboo is supposed to be wobbly.

It is yardage (so you buy by the yard, not a 24" panel) called Carp by Michael Miller fabrics. It is from a couple of years ago (there was no date on the selvedge of the fabric) The fabric is so realistic is looks like a photograph. The center piece of fabric in the quilt is 34 inches tall by the full 45" WOF. No way I was going to cut that beautiful fabric any smaller.

This is so nice! I really love it. I've never seen one like it. It will be such fun to look at it over the fireplace! It will make you happy, I think.
