    Default Franchising?

I for one would love to see MSQC expand business to possibly franchise the name, business model etc into a few regions. Anyone else?

But perhaps in Quilting world one doesn't need to upset other local shops?

What do you think? I'd seriously love to leave education in public schools to own my own business, hire great folks and have a business here in central Florida. And because I'm an educator I could help run classes.........

Just dreaming...... Any chance of franchising?

That would probably cut into their daily deal! I know jenny is very big on supporting the local quilt store!

Never gonna happen. They don't need to or want to. They are currently in the process of opening up several 'theme' stores in their little town. They just opened the seasonal one. It is family owned and operated and will stay that way.

    Sondra,

Although, I do not live in Orlando, I am originally from Florida and visit family frequently. I feel there are not enough quilt shops in the Orlando area. Even if M* didn't expand to other regions, I don't see why YOU couldn't open a shop of your own down there. Be strategic about where the location is so all the quilter snowbirds are able to stop when driving through.

I bet if you asked for a few tips, they would share some ideas!

Al Doan does seminars for new entrepreneurs, you could ask him for advice.

I believe that this is a dream for many of us! Or to be adopted by the Doans to become part of the family!
