    Default calculating materials for quilt

    Hello all!

I have been looking through all the forum and quilting video's in the effort to find out how to figure the materials needed for the size quilt you are wanting to make.. would love some help or just a little direction on finding a video or print out of how to accomplish the numbers.

    Thank You
    Camila

There are some great sites out there. Maybe we need to rattle Alan's tree since he has SOOOOOOOOOOOO much time on his hands???? (yeah, right, Sandy!!)

    poor, poor Al hehe

Do you have an idea on which one you want to make? or something from another source? In the newer videos they will sometimes have a diagram for sizes or Jenny will mention yardage if you don't want to use a precut.
Backing always confuses me, but I only make lap or smaller. No queens for me!

If you have an android smart phone you can get a wonderful free app by Robert Kaufman. It's a wonderful app that will calculate many different things for you. I use it ALL the time!

    Quilting Calculators for Android

Try this site on your computer. Hope it works. If you have a smart phone, go to google store and search for Robert Kaufman quilt calculator.

    Good Luck and happy sewing!

Gotta try that phone app. Thanks for sharing.

I use this site exclusively for backing, border, and binding calculation and I love it. I've never had a problem with it being inaccurate.

EDIT: As I post this, I get my phone and as I'm reading the description, realize it's RK but teamed up with Quilter's Paradise, which is the link I posted.
