Your friend is doing a great job teaching you to quilt, 'cause this is one fantastic quilt! Love the colors and how you did the border.
When life throws you scraps, make a quilt!

After I finished quilting it, I told my friend/instructor to squint her eyes while checking my quilting lines because up close it's not all that, lol. For my first attempt, it makes me happy I'm working on my 2nd quilt now and hope to show some improvement with it.

I love yours! I'm eager to try one with sashing (is that what the fabric that frames the blocks is called?). I've got the top to my 2nd quilt done and while waiting for the backing fabric to come in am sewing the top of my 3rd which is using the video of Jenny's Disappearing Nine Patch tutorial. I'm thinking of adding sashing to it because I'm not sure how it's going to look without something to tie it together.

Thanks, Debbie! I'm finding it so fulfilling, from choosing the fabrics at the start to sewing the last stitch on the label at the end. I mean I love it! And, I've found so much help and inspiration here on the forum; everyone is so kind and encouraging.

Great job! Wow, seriously, this is your first quilt? I love the borders - the white inner stripe really sets off the rest of the quilt. And your label is so cute! Is it printed, or did you use a pen? Thanks for sharing!

    Very impressive first quilt!
I LOVE the 'old school' charm.
I really need to get off the exclamation point.
It may give people the idea that I'm bright and cheerful all the time....

Great job on the quilt, and yes, the storybook backing is absolutely darling.

It is wonderful, hard to believe it is your first quilt.
