That is unspeakably beautiful! Did you do the quilting or did you send it out?

Thanks everyone. I originally was going to just make him a log cabin quilt and then I remembered that Shirley, aka buckeyequilter, made one with leaves. I looked in her albums to see how she did it and then found a leaf pattern online. I had started making 12" log cabins, so I had to adjust the leaves to 12" too. and it came out so big it didn't need borders.

Bubby, fabric has to breed because I couldn't possibly have bought ALL that fabric. LOL

Sandy, I send them out and I paid $45 to have it quilted with a simple pattern and he provides the backing and batting.

You did a wonderful job, the quilt is just beautiful, I would be very happy to have it on my bed. As a newbie I don't have much of a stash yet but would like to work on it.

That is truly a work of art. I love it! The picture you took should be in the fall issue of a quilting magazine, it is perfect. Your DS will be so happy with his gift.

those are just log cabin blocks. That is how they come out when you use a light and a dark. Then you just turn them to form the pattern. Log cabin blocks are fun because you can turn them dozens of different ways to form different patterns

Your quilt is absolutely beautiful. As I am watching new tutorials, now I think about what I have in my stash to make the quilt. Along with my buying too much fabric, I just inherited fabric from another lady that bought too much fabric. Anyway, keep up the good work.
