This is my first practice run at a jelly star.

I've only been attempting quilting for a few weeks, which up until now has basically been sewing charms together to make place mat size tops. In fact before the start of this year had barely used a sewing machine, but having watched all of Jenny's tutorials more times than I care to admit to I decided that quilting was something that I really wanted to do. I have completely fallen in love with Jenny's jelly star tutorial and have bought some black fabric and a Kona solid jelly roll to make my quilt, maybe a little ambitious for a complete beginner but I do love a challenge

Sorry about the picture quality, it was taken with my mobile phone. It's not perfect by any means, but I am very pleased with it (even though it took me the best part of 3 and a half hours to put together!)

Way to go Sandra! That's the way to do it. Just keep doing over and over again till its right. We like to say the seam ripper is our best friend. I made and remade a ten minute block last night till I figures out The middle block was to small and that was why it wasn't working. I made two in the ten minute time but this last one is still not done! LOL Your block looks great keepup the good work.! Saundra

Sandra, you sound just like me as far as experience and jumping right in goes. Good for you. Your block is great. Can't wait to see the finished quilt!!!
