    Default Marti Mitchell templets Q

    Hi
Is there any that has experience of Marti Mitchell templets Set Q?

I have run in to some problems with them.

As long as I only do the square and the halfsquare in combo all is well.
But as soon as I try to make a flying goose in combo with a square in a square ,
    the messuarement is wrong.

I do not know what I do wrong. But I am sure that I do Something wrong!

Any idees? tips ? anything ?

I am not desprate or what!?

    Annika

I have never tried Marti Mitchell's rulers.

This is what I use and it is SEW simple! Here's a link for you:

I am not at all familiar with the rulers you are using but here is a link for making waist free flying geese that I plan on trying.

I use L & M templates, and one of them have flying geese....I just can't remember which. They have always turned out exactly right for me, so I'm sorry I can't help you.

Thank you all for the tips.

I just want to make clear. This is not any kinde of rulers. They are templets.

I think I am wrong in my thinking. I will try again to night and se if I can figure it out.

I have the Marti Michell set B and just started working with them last month. I really like making the geese with these templates (I've made many many with other rulers or techniques.) So, what is the finished size of the geese patch you are trying to make?

I have both A and B, they made a perfect Missouri Star block. Perhaps you are using the wrong size templates together to make your design. I think Marti Michell templates are known for creating accurate blocks.

I have templates A and B and have not had any problems like your mentioning. As Jean said, it may be the wrong size of template. But, I am not familiar with set Q.

Oooh! I love my Marti Michell templates. They are my favorite way to make a quilt with pointy points!

I don't have Q, but let me go see what I can find out.

OK. I just looked them up. The Q set are just sized to make 2.5" squares and the pieces are similar to A-D of the other basic sets.

When you are making your "goose" (the bigger triangle in the center) are you overlapping the template along what would be the center seam? If you don't overlap the seam allowance when you flip the template to make your "goose" it will be wider than it should be. That might be enough to cause the problem.

When you flip the template over make sure the angled corner at the top bumps up against the edge you just cut and makes the correct top shape.

I hope that helps. If not, let me know and I'll see what else I can figure out!

I think that might be one of the things to try again. I am not sure that I did that correctly.

Will try again and see what happens!
