    Definitely!! These are 8 1/2" finished blocks, I used a layer cake to make a pattern called Piece of Cake 3, which was varying widths plus sashing, but I am sure you could forego the sashing all together and just use the layer cake!

    I was thinking of a layer cake too! I hope you don't mind if I show an idea with charms where you just chop them up.
