    Default Scrappy Stars block

I'd like to find a quilt pattern to use up some of my scraps and found this one. Click image for larger version.

Did Jenny do a quilt tutorial that has one of these "star blocks" in it? Or maybe it was someone else's tutorial that showed you how to make a block with the points on the ends. Can anyone help?

Brenda - it's just squares, with sashing between and cornerstones where the sashing intersects.

All of your squares and sashing pieces are scraps. The trick is the cornerstones are all one solid colour, and your sashing rectangles are 'snowballed' with red, forming the star points.

If you can't find a tutorial for it, tell me how big you want your squares to be and a finished size for the quilt and I'll write you up a pattern

I was interested in this pattern a while ago, I routed Thru my printouts and found the pattern!
Here is the link for a table runner. Just make more blocks for the size you want.

    Hope it's what you want.

So I didn't really read it. I was waking by and clicked because it had a photo. I love this quilt and would love to see a tutorial on it as well.

This looks like the quilt Nana Margaret did for her elder daughter. It was Hidden Stars from the Layer Cake, Jelly Roll and charm Quilts book by Pam and Nicky Lintott. This was in show and tell early August if you want to check it out.

I think I'd like it to be 42" x 50"ish (so I can get two out of a queen size batting). I would like to use 5" charm squares. Do you have an easy way to figure out how many charm squares and what size my rectangular blocks and corner squares need to be?

Yes, that is a variation on it. Nana Margaret did a four patch and then the stars. I like that one too. So, so pretty Nana Margaret!!
