Those are really cute! I want to make a couple too for my granddaughter using flannel and cotton. Welcome to the forum from Massachusetts.

I stumbled across some MSQC tutorials on YouTube and fell in love with the receiving baby blanket. Less than a month after viewing the video, several times I might add, my daughter told me she was organising a baby shower for a work colleague. I couldn't have timed it better. Here's a picture of two blankets made from the same fabrics but in reverse patterns - the second finished today. These were so quick to do!

Now I know this isn't strictly in keeping with what appear to be (to me at least) the very complex rules around quilting vis a vis colours, patterns etc, but Jenny's demonstration on YouTube was so cute - I couldn't pass up the opportunity. We know the baby will be a boy, so a cheeky monkey fabric, I thought was ideal.

I have never done any quilting, I have only ever embroidered or dressmaking, but I think for my first true foray into quilting I may next try my hand at the zig zag table runner.

Thank you Jenny for some very inspiring tutorials.

PS had a little trouble adding a picture, so I do hope that what I managed to upload is OK
    Hey,

I have done quite a few of these for donations to hospitals. They work up quickly and look great. I love the "cheeky monkey" fabric.

Welcome to the forum. Your blankets are just darling. The new mom will be very happy with the bigger size of the blanket. I know my Grandaughter was, said she could wrap little guy up in it with no problems.
