    Default Cancer Awareness Ribbon Quilts

I am new to this forum but I've been following MSQC tutorials for quite some time. My great grandmother taught me to quilt when I was very young and now I am using those skills, plus new ones I'm learning all the time, to give back to those less fortunate than myself. My calling is to make quilts for cancer patients and also for families of those who have lost the battle. I have used Jenny's pattern as a guideline and my background knowledge of patterns to perfect this one. I generally make the lap quilts with a ribbon pattern on it in the color representative of the cancer they are fighting. Each of these is made and given with love and blessings from a fellow survivor.

And now on to the reason I am posting tonight. I work at the local hospital and when I found out last week that we were raising money for our women's center and the availability of mammograms to those who might otherwise be unable to afford them, and to help defer the cost of treatment for women diagnosed with breast cancer, I had a wonderful idea to make a quilt. The idea mushroomed and with time as my biggest constraint, I chose to make a rag quilt. The picture below is my final product. I am so proud of this quilt and wanted to share it, knowing that everyone has been touched by cancer in some way in their life. I also wanted to let EVERYONE out there know that it is with love and hope that I pray for each and every victim.

I pray each of you is inspired by this quilt and God's blessings to each and everyone of you.

I have seen a quilt made w/the ribbon using half square triangles. It was at Parkland Parish in Tacoma WA. I am not sure if they have the pattern there or not, but they have a webpage and facebook page so you should be able to contact them that way or by phone.
