    Default My first charm pack

I bought a Lovely charm pack when it was the deal of the day and I'm using it to make the basket of flowers table runner. What fun to open the pack and lay out the different squares, trying to distribute the various colors and designs.

Now for a question, when you machine quilt what do you do about the thread ends? When I learned to make clothes I was taught to pull them to one side and knot them but am guessing that is not the right answer.

Hi Pat, Don't you love those charm packs!! I usually put a knot at the end so I don't have so many strings coming out. I'm wondering what other people do -

I did them on my tablerunner the same as when hand quilting.
Just put a small knot in the thread, using the tip of the needle to bring the knot down close to the
fabric and then pop the knot down into the batting. It will permanently lodge in the batting and your quilting stitches should never come loose.
I thought it was just like opening a present when I dug into my 1st charm pack for the tablerunner, and recently my
1st jellyroll was even more fun!

I love the precuts! Lola how did you make your table runner using the charm pack? I just got one that I want to make a runner with. Sam

Saundra, this is the written tutorial on MSQC blog that I followed.
    http://blog.missouriquiltco.com/bask...nner-tutorial/

It is the one that Sarah displays in one of the videos on charm packs. I love the runner and I am planning on making more of them.
The one that is done will be given as a gift later in the year.
