    Default Pre-cut seam allowance

I've just received my first pre-cuts and hit a problem. I may just be being dumb but when you take your quarter inch seam allowance do you measure from the peak of the pinked edge or the trough? :?

And on the subject of seam allowances, what IS the difference between a quarter inch and a scant quarter inch????

'they' say to measure from the point of the pinked edge. (they= Moda) It can be a preference thing though.....the MOST important thing is to be consistent throughout the project. (basically pick your point and stick with it!! )

Good question! I haven't started using mine yet, so I haven't run into that issue yet. Good thing to know before I get to that point.
As for the scant 1/4" the inside edge of my sewing machine foot is just under the quarter inch mark, so that is what I use if it calls for that.

I've found that measuring from the trough side of the pinked edge ends up measuring more accurately but Sarahs right pink your point and be consistent and that's gonna get the job done!
To stitch or not to stitch... There is no question.
