Hi from Germany
Hi everyone,
I´m new to this forum (first time ever I joined a forum) and wanted to introduce myself
My name is Andrea, 45 years old and from Germany. I am married and have two sons. I´ve been a stay-at-home-mum for several years and when the kids grew older I decided to go to university which I finished about 1,5 years ago. And now I´m a clinical psychologist (but not a therapist), working at the university in social psychology research and trying to achieve a PhD, which will take me at least another two or three years...
Besides that, I like to read, especially fantasy and crime thriller, rock and metal music. And I like fabric
I started sewing about 21 years ago after my first son was born. A few years later I somehow stopped sewing and have come back to it about a year ago when a friend posted a photo of a beautiful handbag on facebook that she had sewn.
I´ve sewn some clothing and a handbag so far and tried out some different blocks. I almost finished my very first, very easy quilt top, but it still needs a border and then I have to figure out how to actually quilt it.
Unfortunately, I haven´t got enough time to sew very constantly. If I had a wish for free, I´d like to have a four weeks vacation with nothing else to do but to sew and try out all these beautiful blocks I´ve seen on the internet and in the youtube videos
Kind regards from Germany,
Andrea

Welcome to the forum! I have just booked a trip to your beautiful country in November, I am very excited about visiting Germany, home of many of my family's ancestors and my husbands family as well! We are going to travel on the Danube, so we will be in Southeastern Germany.

Re: Hi from Germany
Hello Andrea and a warm welcome to you from England. There's something abut sewing which always draws you back eventually, I didn't sew for 25years and started again six months ago when I wanted to learn quilting. Good luck with the studies, my daughter got her PhD five years ago, hard work but so worth it in the end. Enjoy the forum and your sewing!

Hi Andrea! Welcome to the forum. You have found one of the best places on earth. It is my first forum too....I checked out several others, but the people on here are a very caring and talented. Sometimes the only sewing I get done is hanging out here on the forum, but it keeps me in the loop and feeds my addiction. Check out the groups, there are always a swap or 2 going on at any one time as well as some charity groups. Lisa
