Default For an engineer she makes a pretty good cake!

    Just look what Heather made!

When I retired from cake decorating (it got old and I got diabetis and went on a hyper from breathing in and absorbing suger) I passed all my equipment onto Heather. Her reaction was not overwhelming but I said 'you never know and this stuff costs a fortune) and sure enough about a year ago she did but only piping, she refused to do sugarcraft.

Her soon to be SIL asked her to maker her wedding cake and the poor child has worried and sweated and bent my ear for months. She came up to see me and I donned surgical gloves and gave her moulding lessons yada yada.

The wedding is this Saturday and tonight she finished her cake and I am sooooooooooooooooo proud of her!

Bottom layer is carrot, middle is lemon and lavender and the top is almond and cherry so they all had to be baked this week. She has been making roses in prep but most of the work was done this week. She has just gone to bed at 2am having finished.

She flies out the day after the wedding to drill for natural gas in Ghana........ what a contrast to the pretty (if sticky) world of cake making eh?

She had the detail driving brain of an engineer with her mother's talent. Of course the cake is beautiful and I bet it is delicious.

WOW! very beautiful. I love that it is very elegant and yet quit simple. I am sure all those white roses weren't simple but the look is....well, simply elegant.

Daisy, what a talented daughter you have. The apple didn't fall from the tree for sure. The simple elegance is beautiful. You have every right to be a proud momma.

Very elegant cake! I like that it looks effortless. You have every right to be proud, it seems she learnt from a true master!

Life is like a party. You invite a lot of people; some go, some join you, some laugh with you, some didnít come. But in the end, after the fun, there would be a few who would clean up the mess with you. And most of the time, those were the uninvited ones.
