Default on the hunt for a fabric line

    Hey All,
A family member wants me to make their daughter a quilt-and after MUCH deliberation, they chose a simple patchwork pattern with the Riley Blake-"the sweetest thing" line.
It looks like about everyone is sold out of the charm packs/layer cakes-and much of the bolts. I've emailed MSQ to see if they expect to get any more in, by chance-and am waiting to hear back...so my questions...

    1. I've never tracked down specific fabric lines before-any tips or resources?
    2. Fabric.com seems to have the most in stock, but their customer reviews since late 2012 are terrible. Anyone have first hand knowledge? Most reviews are about them saying they have something in stock, when they don't.

Also, she's also requesting that the quilt be "heavy" (it's a 4x5 approx)-would you guys recommend a particular batting that is "heavier?"
thanks so much for the help-you guys are the best!

I really need to get off the exclamation point.
It may give people the idea that I'm bright and cheerful all the time....

http://fortworthfabricstudio.com/cgi...sweetest_thing Looks like they have a really good selection, even fat quarter bundles and half yard cuts. I've never ordered from them, but they probably do ok.

I order from fabric.com a lot and have only ever had one piece of fabric out of stock by the time they got to me and they emailed and asked if I wanted something else, a refund or what. They ended up sending me a fabric that was fifty cents more a yard than what I had originally ordered.

I have ordered from Fort Worth Fabrics many many times. Their customer service is A++++++ . Shipping is super quick; I've ordered on a Friday afternoon and got it Monday in the mail.

I've ordered from them a few times and been very happy with their service. In fact I ordered my Sweetcake fabric from there for my daughter's quilt.

I don't have any specific knowledge about that fabric, but have had absolutely no problems with fabric.com
