    Default TEMPLATES

I have found a quilt pattern using thimbles and tumblers. It is darling but you have to cut 132 pieces. Right now all I have is the paper template. Since I am new to working with templates....how do I make a more permanent one? How do I cut 132 easily (I am going to use charm squares)? This really seems like a really hard thing to do but the quilt is so pretty. I would appreciate any tips on how to use templates and what to make them out of.

Wow 132! I don't know about an easy way but definitely cut your template out of something thicker just so it will keep a true-er shape longer. I bought a package of write on transparencies that I use for copying out pattern pieces. I've also used them to make small gift boxes and things it's great You could also copy it onto cardboard or something heavy like that.

As for easy you can stack them but don't stack to many. I think I generally hear that 4 is the limit and that is for when you can cut it with a rotary cutter. So depending on the shape of your templates try a few things out but you should probably settle in for the long haul! Good Luck!
To stitch or not to stitch... There is no question.

Since my last post I have been in contact with the lady that taught the class for this quilt in California. She was able to find me an acrylic template so I am very happy about that. Now all I have to do is cut. Thanks goodness I will be able to cut with a rotary. Thanks for the help. I will probably start off with stacking 3 and see how it goes from there. I hope I ordered enough charm squares.
