Default Weekly Discussion question for 6/1/09!!

Can't believe it's June already...school is out...summer camps have started....and family is planning visits...heaven help me I might survive.....

    for this week's question...

Do you like to work off of a pattern..or just wing it? If you work a pattern, do you find them online (share where if you do) or do you create your own prior to starting?

I have been finding a pattern or picture online and winging it because if I follow a pattern it still is off

I always use a pattern. At least I have a guide. But sometimes, heck who am I kidding - most of the time it comes out a little different. I have been known to cut the wrong size and then add a different block to the mix!

I'm a horrible pattern reader. HORRIBLE. I just have no patience. Pretty much everything I've attempted would fall in the "just wing it" category.

Now that I think about it, that's pretty much how I do everything.

I do a bit of both really.

Although often I don't follow the pattern structure instructions after cutting the pieces out which usually ends up fine but has at times ended in disaster.

Well as a novice..........I usually use a pattern, or take a class where the teacher shows me what to do. I haven't learned how to wing it yet. LOL... I think I need more experience before that comes into play.

I like to wing it but usually after at least a little guidance! I like to take an idea and run with it and make it my own
To stitch or not to stitch... There is no question.
