    Default Buried Treasure Pattern

I purchaced a Buried Treasure (Benartex) layer cake to make a quilt for a friends lake house. Can anyone suggest a simple pattern to maximize the gorgeous patterns and colors of the fabrics?

Just checked out the fabric - very nice, if you didnt want to cut the squares you could make a disappearing 9 patch, using so extra plain yardage in the middle squares, my favourite simple pattern for a layer cake is the double sliced pattern but it would mean cutting the squares twice, I am not sure that is what you want to do.

Here is a link to a tutorial, they used 5" squares, but there is no reason you couldnt use 10" squares

    Good luck.

Shannon, you have to excuse Winnie's Friend as she is hanging upside down.

I made two quilts for my grandsons using a "pirate" theme buried treasure fabric (can't remember what it is called, but got it from MSQC), used the double slice layer cake and it turned out nice, your pieces aren't so tiny.
