    Default Sweet Sixteen Quilter......

Hi there I am very new to quilting but have already quilted two of my first quilts myself on my sewing machine. I know I am going to want to do my own quilting on my quilts but can already see how difficult this will be. I also know that I don't have room, or money, for a long arm quilting machine.

I am sure there have been other posts but could anyone share their experience of having the Sweet Sixteen? I would really love to hear opinions!

    Many thanks,

    Jessica

I don't have the money or the space for a long arm either. I stick to easy quilting for now and practice the other stuff. It just takes a lot of practice. You need to post pics of the things you have done, we would love to see them.
I'm sorry, maybe it's because I'm still on my first cuppa coffee and I'm not awake yet, but I don't understand "the Sweet Sixteen" so I cannot share experience.

Sweet Sixteen is a small quilting machine....the only drawback that I could see in the demo I saw of it was the drag you would have because of the small space...quilt would be hanging on all three sides.....could make it more difficult to move...I am still using sewing machine to quilt....if you check out Leah Day on You Tube she has an inexpensive way to make it easier to quilt on a home machine....where you can spread your quilt out more for support!

I also do my quilting on my sewing machine, but I've researched the Sweet Sixteen and it's my dream machine for the future! If you're really curious about it, go on the HQ Website and order the free CD. It'll show you this machine in action and you'll want it even more! I believe, if I'm not mistaken, they also have a bigger table. Anyway.....it's the one I want!

I am new to and only using a machine right now but may have to check out what others have suggested
These things, I warmly wish for you-

Tin Lizzie has one also, I've tried that one and it gives you room to move, however, I've only tried it with a small practice piece, no a big quilt. I wrote a huge piece about Sweet Sixteen and it didn't post. The Tin Lizzie I tried was about $3500. The Sweet Sixteen that I saw online was over $5000.

    Hi and welcome from Canada.
Blessed are the children of the piecemakers for they shall inherit the quilts!
